Ways to buy extra baggage
The price of a ticket includes the transportation of a certain amount of baggage in the cargo hold of the aircraft. This allowance differs depending on the booking class and the destination.
General
- These excess baggage rates are only applicable on Malawi operated flights
-These excess baggage rates shall be applicable per sector
-The excess baggage charge for sporting equipment can be collected in local currency of the departure station.
-Provided that the below three criteria's are fulfilled, any sporting equipment shall be transported for free on Malawi flights.
1)The passenger is carrying only 1 checked-in baggage, making the sporting equipment the 2nd PC
2)The weight of the sporting equipment is less than or equal to 32 kgs even if it is the 2nd PC.
3)The total dimension of the sporting equipment is less than or equal to 158cms or 62 inches
-For domestic route prior arrangement with station is required
-All other rules and regulations concerning sporting equipment shall be governed by Malawi baggage handling and excess baggage handling policies and procedures.
