Brief History
Malawi Airlines, formerly known as Malawian Airlines (2013-2016), was established in July 2013 and commenced operations in January 2014 with domestic flights between Blantyre and Lilongwe. International flights took off in February 2014, beginning with the Harare/ Lusaka route on February 3rd, followed by the Johannesburg route on February 17th, and Dar es Salaam on February 18th . Subsequently, on March 29th, 2017, Malawi Airlines inaugurated flights to Nairobi, Kenya.
With the addition of the third aircraft to its fleet, the airline embarked on further expansion, unveiling plans to commence flights to Pemba and Nampula in Mozambique, as well as Kigali, Rwanda, by late 2023.
Since its inception, Malawi Airlines has gained renown for its punctuality and amiable in-flight services, fostering an experience that allows customers to immerse themselves in the warmth that defines Malawi as the "Warm Heart of Africa."
